DONEGAL WILL BEGIN THEIR 2016 National Football League campaign against Down in Newry on Saturday, January 30th.
Rory Gallagher’s side have been handed a trip to the newly-promoted Mourne County – who are still on the look-out for a new manager following Jim McCorry’s departure – for the 2016 League opener, a game that will be shown live on Setanta.
Donegal follow that up with back-to-back home games against Cork and Mayo, but will be away in three of their final four fixtures.
Their only remaining home game will be against the other newly-promoted outfit, Roscommon.
Gallagher (pictured above) will also take his side away to Kerry, Dublin and Monaghan.
Donegal were away to both Kerry and Dublin in the 2015 League, but 2016 is the start of a new two-year fixtures cycle so Donegal have been given something of the short straw.
These fixtures are provisional and have to be ratified.
