LIAM BUCKLEY had the look of a relieved man after St Patrick’s Athletic overcame Finn Harps in Ballybofey last night.
Harps had the Dubliners stiffled for long periods, but Harps were undone by an unfortunate own goal by Packie Mailey in the 68th minute.

“The first goal was going to be critical and, once we got it, it drained Harps,” Buckley observed.
“We knew that it was going to be difficult coming up here. The pitch and the weather being what it is, we were expecting it to be heavy, but it played reasonably okay.”
A little more than a year-and-a-half ago, Pat’s hammered Harps 6-1 in an FAI Cup semi-final, but last night’s was a much more tense and close affair with Ollie Horgan’s side leaving cursing their luck.
Buckley wasn’t impressed by his own team’s display.
He said: “Overall, I’d expect us to play better. We’ve done okay and we scrapped it out. There wasn’t a huge amount in the game. We’re delighted though; it’s an important three points.
“There will be teams who will come here and won’t get anything. This is a massive three points for us.”
