DONEGAL CAPTAIN MICHAEL MURPHY believes you can learn more from your defeats than your victories.
Murphy (pictured above by Geraldine Diver) will lead Donegal out at Croke Park on Sunday in the Allianz League Division 1 semi-final against Dublin on the back of a mixed campaign thus far, where Rory Gallagher’s side won the first three outings before losing the next four.
“We not going down to Dublin but to try and get a result and a performance. They’re a well-oiled machine and are seven from seven,” Murphy said. “We are learning from these defeats.”
It’s nine weeks now till Donegal open their Ulster SFC campaign against either Fermanagh or Antrim and Murphy insists that’s still the priority.
“We’ve to zone in on this nine weeks coming up,” he added. “We’ve gained a good understanding of youth and experience as a squad. That process of the younger players getting to know the older players has been very positive. It’s brilliant to get those types of players in.”
