ONE MAN WHO was an interested spectator at Finn Park last Saturday night was Johnny Dunleavy.
The Ballybofey native is captain of Cork City but popped in to cast an eye over his hometown club Finn Harps in their 1-0 win over Longford Town – a victory that means Ollie Horgan’s newly-promoted side have seven points from their first five outings in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
“It’s nice to get up and see the game and see a few familiar faces,” Dunleavy says. “It’s been a solid start for Harps. Beating Derry was a great start. We’ll see Harps down at Turner’s Cross in three weeks time. Ollie Horgan is a very good coach who knows what he wants from people.
“At Cork, we’ve made a good enough start. We had a disappointing result in Derry but we got back from there. We beat Longford 6-0 and then Dundalk. It was good to get the result there.”
