THE CENTRAL HEARINGS COMMITTEE has upheld fines for Donegal and Kerry in the wake of their Allianz League Division 1 clash last month.
Kerry’s 1-13 to 1-8 win at Austin Stack Park in Tralee saw a number of unruly incidents with the hosts’ full-forward Alan Fitzgerland sent off, as was Donegal’s Leo McLoone while Neil McGee was given a retrospective one-match ban for having pulled the hand of Fitzgerald in an aggressive manner.
After both counties were hit with €7,500 fines, Donegal and Kerry requested appeals, which were heard on March 23.
The Central Hearings Committee found both sides guilty of an infraction of rule 7.2 (d) (3), that is to say “Disruptive Conduct at Games by Players (not causing the Premature Termination of a Game)” so imposed €5,000 fines on both counties.
