MALIN CAME AWAY from Glenfin on Monday with another victory in a game played in windy conditions.
Glenfin 0-8 Malin 3-14
The away team fell behind from the throw in but hit back with a fortunate goal after a pointed effort from Kieron McColgan fell short and decieved the keeper in over his head.
Glenfin came back with two points but Malin etched ahead with two quick fire points from Danny McCarron and a Paul McLaughlin effort from way out near the touchline.
Glenfin responded with a free but another long range point from McLaughlin and a Darren McLarkey score kept Malin, who were playing with any advantage the wind was giving in the first half, ahead.
Dan McDaid also chipped in with the scoring for Malin with two frees and a score from play to leave the half time score Glenfin 0-4 Malin 1-8.
The second half saw a bright start from Malin with two quick points from McDaid off the post with his left peg and a point from the falling over leg of Seamus Houghton.
Glenfin came back with two points of their own but Malin then hit two goals midway through the half to seal the win.
The first was a lovely team move with Christopher McLaughlin playing a few one twos before blasting into the net from the edge of the square. Brendan McLaughlin made sure of the game with his trademark pace beating the Glenfin defence before slotting low into the bottom corner as he cut in from the left.
