THE ULSTER COUNCIL HAS confirmed the details for next Wednesday’s EirGrid Ulster Under-21 Football Championship semi-finals.
Declan Bonner’s Donegal will take on Tyrone at Celtic Park with an 8 o’clock throw-in time.
Derry’s Barry Cassidy will be the referee.
The game is a repeat of last year’s Ulster final, which was also played at the Lone Moor Road venue and won by Tyrone in dramatic style when Daniel McNulty’s injury-time free handed them a 1-11 to 0-13 win.
That sank Donegal to their third Ulster U-21 final defeat in-a-row. Since then, Bonner has assumed the controls from Maxi Curran and last Wednesday saw his team defeat Derry in Ballybofey in the quarter-finals.
Donegal made life hard for themselves as they allowed Derry come back into a game that looked over.
When Niall Loughlin and Ruairi McElwee netted goals for Derry, the Oak Leaf seemed destined for the semis, but Stephen McBrearty’s injury time free steered Donegal over the line.
Monaghan will meet Armagh in the other semi-final at Pairc Esler in Newry.
