NAOMH BRÍD, Buncrana and Gaeil Fhánada all won their AllSportStore.com All-County Football League Division 3 games at the weekend while Naomh Colmcille and Naomh Ultan played out a draw.
Darragh Brogan’s goal early on gave Naomh Bríd the platform against Letterkenny Gaels as they won 1-7 to 0-6.
Brogan drilled home after nine minutes to send Naomh Bríd on their way. The goal had Naomh Bríd 1-5 to 0-5 in front at half-time.
Conor McBrearty posted four ponts in the opening half for Letterkenny Gaels, who only scored once – again through McBrearty – in the second period.
David Walsh came on for the last 12 minutes for his first outing for club or county in 2016.
Second-half scores by Clint Walsh and Kian Gallagher steered the home side to the win.
Seamie ‘Nanny’ Friel hit five points for Gaeil Fhánada to go along with a first-half goal by Mark Friel as they defeated Urris 1-9 to 0-10 at Crampsie Park.
Kevin McLaughlin and Alan Friel did the bulk of the scoring for Urris, but the Fanad men did enough to emerge with the win.
Buncrana made light work of Downings with John Campbell hitting three points and Garbhan Friel starring at centre-back at The Scarvey as they scored a 0-9 to 0-4 win.
Naomh Ultan looked to have taken a win over Naomh Colmcille in Newtown when Dermot Gallier and Damien Quigley struck late points, but Ciaran Devine’s point saw Naomh Colmcille snatch a 0-16 to 1-13 draw.
Alan Lyons netted in the first half to give Naomh Ultan a 1-6 to 0-8 half-time lead.
Joe Donaghy hit seven points for Naomh Colmcille, who had seven different scorers, including Devine’s late leveller.
