TWO GOALS AND six points from Cathal McGettigan paved the way for Baile na nGalloglach Milford to overcome Termon in an entertaining Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta quarter-final.
Baile na nGalloglach Milford 3-12 Termon 1-15 (after extra-time)
Danny O’Donnell’s team had already defied the odds to overcome Gaoth Dobhair in the previous round and continued their fine start to the season with a three-point win. Now, they can book their tickets for Glenties on may Bank Holiday weekend with Naomh Conaill this year’s hosts of the Donegal finals.

McGettigan’s goal on 25 minutes gave the home team a 1-4 to 0-3 half-time advantage at Moyle View. But Termon, who enjoyed a win over Cloughaneely last weekend, came back strong in the second half to draw level with Coalan McDaid netting midway through the half; Daire McDaid and Steve McElwaine on the mark.
It finished 1-11 to 1-11 after normal time. In extra-time, two goals in as many minutes in the first period put Milford in control, 3-12 to 1-11 up.
The first of those arrived when Adam Serrinha finished off a pass from Pauric Curley and then a minute later, McGettigan scored at the second attempt after Conor Tinny saved his initial effort. Termon fought back with four points after the break but couldn’t find the late goal to get back on terms as Milford held on to win.
