CHRISTY FILDARA was the Carndonagh Community School hero yesterday – as this brilliant extra-time strike won the Dr Tony O’Neill Cup.
Cathal Farren’s penalty had been cancelled out by Douwe Van Sinderen just before half-time as Carndonagh CS were held by Presentation Brothers College from Cork.
The sides headed for extra-time and it was Fildara, the Glengad United winger, who popped up with the magical goal that takes the prestigious Cup to Inishowen for the first time.
Fildara and Evan Tweed combined with the former’s shot going past the PBC goalkeeper, Eoin O’Sullivan.
