THE DONEGAL COUNTY BOARD is set to appeal the fine handed down by the Central Competitions Controls Committee (CCCC) yesterday.
Donegal and Kerry were both fined €7,500 for their part in scenes which brought a cloud over Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 1 game in Austin Stack Park.
The CCCC handed down the severe fines and proposed a one-game suspension for Donegal full-back Neil McGee.
Donegal have not yet decided whether to accept or to request a hearing to the sanction for the Gaoth Dobhair man, who was involved in an incident in the seventh minute that led to the dismissal of Alan Fitzgerald, the Kerry full-forward.
Donegal have until Friday to make a decision on McGee, but will lodge an appeal against the monetary penalty.
