LETTERKENNY RUGBY CLUB held a very successful information evening on player development on Thursday night.
Parents and coaches from Minis to Under-18’s attended.
The guest speaker Michael Black, Ulster Rugby’s Player Development Officer was delighted to be invited to attend.
“Letterkenny as a club should be proud of where they are, it’s a credit to all involved in the club to have three players from Letterkenny Rugby Club playing for Ulster Rugby,” he said.
“We are delighted to be involved in assisting at every stage possible Letterkenny Rugby Club on the continual development of the club and it’s players”.
Sean McGrory, Jigsaw Donegal, sponsors of Under 18’s was also delighted to be invited to attend.
“When Denis Faulkner, Chairman of the Letterkenny Rugby Club walked into his office to discuss how Letterkenny Rugby Club and their players could benefit from an association with Jigsaw Donegal, we were delighted,” McGrory said.
“It was a first for us to have a sports club contact us directly and we as an organisation were very impressed that a club like Letterkenny Rugby Club had included understanding youth and mental health in their player and club development programme.
“We are looking forward to working with the club and their players for many seasons to come.”
Other speakers on the night were Denis Faulkner, Chairman of Letterkenny Rugby Club who praised the coaches, players & managers for their hard work and dedication and their support for the clubs player development programme.
Denis also thanked all the sponsors of the Letterkenny Rugby Club for their invaluable contribution every year to the club. He urged all the clubs members to support where they can each sponsor.
Denis was also very complimentary of how the girls rugby has evolved and thanked Allen McCrea and Mary Walker for their dedication to girls rugby at the club.
