TOM HENNESSY WAS last night installed as the new Donegal Under-21 hurling manager.Hennessy takes over from Paddy Flood after being ratified at last night’s monthly meeting of the Donegal county committee in Ballybofey.
In 2015, Donegal won the All-Ireland Under-21 ‘C’ Championship when they defeated Tyrone in Celtic Park.
Flood stepped down from the role in the aftermath of that win.
Hennessy had been on his backroom team and was also on Ray Durack’s backroom staff with the Donegal senior hurlers.
Hennessy coached Burt whilst Durack was manager of the Hibernian Park side with Hennessy now the manager at Burt.
A native of Limerick, former goalkeeper Hennessy was on the Limerick senior hurling panel in his playing days.
