FINN HARPS GOT their SSE Airtricity League Premier Division off to a flying start with a 2-1 victory over Derry City on Friday night.
Tony McNamee came off the bench to give a fine showing for the side managed by Ollie Horgan and in doing so, got one over on his brother Barry who was part of the Derry City midfield. However, Tony wasn’t gloating and put the victory down to hard work.
“We might not win another game all season,” he said. “We’ll forget about the Derry game and for me, it’s all about getting the recovery session We’ve a team that is built on team morale. It’s a great squad this year.
“This isn’t a cup game. We have to continue to work hard. If we do, we might stay up.
“There’s very little brothers playing one another but for me and Barry, we live in the same house. We have breakfast together and we have dinner together. Tonight will be about forgetting about it, that might be hard to do with social media but it’s one of them things when you move on.”
Afterwards he spoke to Alan Foley …
