LETTERKENNY BOXING CLUB held and Open Day on Sunday.
Vice-president Stephen McLaughlin is part of the family that initially founded the club, which is situated on John McLaughlin Way – Stephen’s grandfather – on Letterkenny’s High Road.
Sunday was an opportunity for those in the area who might have an interest in the sport to pop in and see what’s on offer.
“At junior level we’ve a good group of eight to 10 and this summer we’d like to push them onto All-Ireland level,” McLaughlin (pictured below) said. “Hopefully in the next few years we’ll get a few. It’s a great family club. We’re hoping to establish it even better. The main point of the open day is to show everyone that we’re still here, as we’ve been here since the early 1960’s.
