CONOR GALLEN ADMITTED he was “sickened” to miss out on Letterkenny Institute of Technology’s final win in the Padraig MacDiarmada Cup in Cork on Saturday.
Having hobbled off the the semi-final win over University of Ulster Magee, the Setanta clubman, though, did have the consolation of lifting the trophy as captain following their 1-11 to 2-6 win over Robert Gordon University from Aberdeen on Fitzgibbon Cup weekend.
“It’s hard standing there on the sideline,” he said. “My voice is gone. They kept going. My heart was in my mouth at the end up. We got a bit of luck and luckily we came out on top in the end.”
He spoke to Cóilín Duffy afterwards …
