RORY GALLAGHER BORE A contented look as he assessed a third Allianz League win for Donegal.
Gallagher’s troops went to the trenches for a 1-14 to 1-12 win over Mayo at Sean MacCumhaill Park, their third League win on the trot.
Leo McLoone’s second-half goal, after Diarmuid O’Connor netted a penalty for Mayo, sent Donegal on their way to a use and hard-fought win,
“We’re happy with the win, for sure,” Gallagher told Donegal Sport Hub.

“We dug in well today. Mayo came in with great appetite, but we responded well after the penalty.
“We were the better team in the second half and the goal was a brilliant move. It was a top-quality finish and that was a huge part of the game.”
Having defeated Down and Cork by a combined 27 points, Donegal spent five days in Tenerife on a training camp before getting down to work again on home soil.
They trained in Ballybofey for the first time this year on Thursday night, when Gallagher noticed ‘a bit of a spark in them’.
He said: “We didn’t want to lose any of the momentum.”
