THE BEGINNERS COURSE for all those interested in taking up a career as a referee is being held in Jackson’s Hotel Ballybofey, starting at 10am this Saturday.
The course leader is one of Ireland’s former leading referees, Jimmy White.
All clubs are urged to send at least one member to this course. Clubs that have no qualified referee at present are asked to send at least two members in order to fulfill their quota.
Refereeing is a great way to stay fit, to contribute to the ongoing development of our games and players, to stay active within CLG, to be part of great occasions, to remain involved, to meet people and make friends.
There is now clearly identifiable pathways and great opportunities for anyone interested in reffing at the top intercounty level. A very professional back-up system is in place to help all referees in their development including training, mentoring, advising and monitoring and for anyone interested in taking up the whistle a rewarding and fulfilling career now beckons.
For those with aspirations, those who want to ref for fun or stay involved or those who want to try it out, young or old, male or female, it out it all starts this Saturday morning in Jackson’s Hotel Ballybofey at 10am.
