LETTERKENNY RFC have been reinstated into the Gordon West Cup and have a home quarter-final tomorrow against Newry.
Letterkenny were beaten 22-19 after extra time by PSNI in Drumahoe last month, but have been handed a reprieve.
During their last fixture, the PSNI hooker went off injured on 55 minutes, but PSNI had no replacements and, thereafter, the scrums went uncontested. This is permitted in League fixtures, but not in the Gordon West Cup.
Letterkenny made their feelings known at the time and a subsequent appeal to Ulster Rugby was successful.
Collie Farrell’s team now play Newry at Dave Gallaher Park tomorrow at 2.30pm in the quarter-final.
