FINN HARPS HAVE been informed this afternoon by the Football Association of Ireland that they have been awarded a Premier Division licence for the forthcoming season.
The club confirmed the news on its official Facebook page.
Harps have been carrying out a series of upgrade works to Finn Park over the last number of weeks and had sought a derogation on three sections of the licencing document: seating capacity, floodlighting and the dressing rooms.
With only 350 seats at Finn Park, a good bit short of the stipulated 1,500, there had been fears that the club would have been instructed to install more seats, but the FAI chiefs have given a pardon.
Seamus Gallagher is carrying out improvements to the dressing room area while Harps have a list of 23 minor improvements to be carried out before they play host to Derry City on Friday, March 4 with a new medical room and a new control room also to be erected.
The club has installed a new crush barrier at the Town End of Finn Park, something that will increase the capacity of the venue to around 4,500.
Finn Harps FC are delighted to announce the club has been awarded a Premier Division License for the 2016 season. Well…
