GLENGAD UNITED will travel in style to their FAI Junior Cup quarter-final against Pike Rovers in Limerick next month.
At yesterday evening’s quarter-final draw at Aviva Stadium, Glengad were the winners in a draw to give one of the teams the chance to travel to their game on the Ireland team coach.
The expense will be covered by the Football Association of Ireland and it means Shane Byrne’s team will travel in style and be spared travel expenses for the trip.
The luxury Irizar coach willl be used to transport the Inishowen League champions to Limerick for their game on the weekend of March 12/13 at Crossagalla.
“There was a draw after the draw and thank God we won that one – so we’re definitely going to be traveling in luxury,” Glengad manager Shane Byrne told Donegal Sport Hub.
“That will save us around €1,000. We will have to do an overnight stay, but the players and the club in general have been great at raising funds. At the start of the season, they set up a separate Junior Cup account to help with the costs involved.”
