BONAGEE UNITED CAME out on top in the SFAI National Cup Under-15 fixture against St Joseph’s this afternoon.
St Joseph’s, Athlone 3-6 Bonagee United 6 (after extra-time)
It took extra-time in a dramatic encounter in Athlone but the Dry Arch Park club can now look forward to a last 16 tie against Arklow FC from Wicklow.

Bonagee started the game with the majority of the play and went 1-0 up in 10 minutes with a Conor O’Reily penalty.
Finnian O’Donnell added a second minutes later which meant Bonagee took a comfortable lead into the break.
But the second half was a very different affair St Joseph’s pulled three goals back to take the lead.
Daragh Ellison was sent off near the end of the game and it looked dead and gone for United, but Bonagee wouldn’t give up and Ronan McKinley managed to get on target in injury time to make it 3-3.
Bonagee were fired up and with only 10 men managed to put three more goals in one from Dylan Woods,Ronan McKinley and Finnian O’Donnell.
