THERE WAS AN understandable contrast in emotions this afternoon at Owenbeg – the Derry GAA Centre of Excellence.
Padraig McCafferty, the joint manager of Carndonagh Community School, saw his side turned over by St Colm’s Draperstown on a 2-9 to 3-4 scoreline.
The Inishowen-based team had been six points up early in the second half. On the other hand, Benny Heron – the Derry inter-county player – was very content with the resilient attitude shown by his troops in the two-point win in the Danske Bank McDevitt Cup (Ulster U-14A) quarter-final.
