MALIN GAA CLUB held a very successful annual Dinner Dance last Saturday night in the Malin Hotel, which was well attended and enjoyed by all.
There were many awards on the night and were presented by 1992 Donegal All-Ireland winning goalkeeper Gary Walsh, who the club would like to thank for his attendance and kind words about the club on the night. The senior player of the year won by Paul McLaughlin (F).
The young senior player of the year was won by Christopher McLaughlin (F). The reserve player of the year was won by John Colm Doherty. The reserve young player of the year was won by Aidan Bambrick.
The minor player of the year was won by Christopher Doherty (PM). The most improved minor player of the year was won by Andrew Mullin.
The under-16 team collected their medals from the Northern Board championship. The under sixteen player of the year was won by Oisin McGonagle.
The under-16 most improved player of the year was a joint award won by Jason Mullarkey and Padraig McCarron. Conor Bambrick, Sean O’Neill, Ciaran Doherty, Oisin McGonagle and Daniel Houten were also recognised for their participation in the Colaiste Inis Eoghain squad.
The reserve team also collected their medals from winning the Philadelphia Cup.
The ladies senior player of the year was won by Linda McColgan (pictured above).
The young senior ladies player of the year was won by Mariah Doherty. The under sixteen ladies player of the year was won by Sarah Monagle.
The under-16 ladies most improved player was won by Megan Harkin. There was an appreciation award given to Colleen Feeney and Rosemary McColgan for their help in the club. Our County player representatives, Declan Walsh, Aoife McColgan and Tara Kelly were recognised, as a club we are very proud of their continued efforts to the club and county.
Our referees Shaun McLaughlin (F), John Paul Houten and Thomas Browne were also recognised as great servants to the club and our games. The Seamus McCloskey award was won by Michael McLaughlin (F), who the club congratulate on his recent engagement to Elish McColgan.
The overseas award was won by Declan Houten. The Hall of fame award was won by Vincey McColgan. The club person of the year award was won by Michael McCarron.
