COLÁISTE NA CARRAIGE have proven in recent years they know how to win games.
This afternoon at Magheragallon the side managed by Paddy Boyle did it again as they recovered from a slow start to eventually pip Carndonagh Community School 1-7 to 1-6 after extra-time in the Donegal Schools Under-16A final. Aaron Doherty kicked the winning point with just four minutes left to play.
“Carndonagh never gave us and that was the hardest game I’ve ever played,” Doherty said afterwards. “We just stuck at it and after extra-time we got through it.”
His joint-captain Brian O’Donnell added: “Carndonagh have come on a lot since Under-14. They took their scores very smartly in the second half. It was down to luck, just a throw of the dice. It’s all down to hard work. You don’t anything for free.”
