DRUMKEEN UNITED GOT over the line to seal the Donegal Youth League title this afternoon.
The side managed by Shaun Gallagher – were missing front pair Anthony Bogle through illness and Kevin Bonner, who was unavailable – but continued their 100 per cent record this term with a 3-0 victory over Gweedore United at St Patrick’s Park.
The silverware obtained goes a long way to justifying the club’s decision to leave the Ulster Senior League and take part in the Donegal Youth League and Donegal Saturday League.
“Young lads were going to be forced here to play Ulster Senior League but were happy when we decided to go into the Donegal Youth League,” Gallagher said. “It’s always good to go up past Drumkeen and see a match on. It’s good to have a crowd about the place again.”
