MOVILLE COMMUNITY COLLEGE ran out comprehensive winners of the Donegal Schools’ Under-16B final in Carndonagh today.
Moville Community College 4-14 Coláiste Ailigh, Letterkenny 1-6
The Inishowen side had already defeated the same opposition in Coláiste in the Senior B final at O’Donnell Park earlier this month.
And today, after a close opening 10 minutes when the sides were locked at 0-2 apiece, Moville got through the gears to post what was a comfortable win in the end.
After 20 minutes, Moville were 0-5 to 0-2 in front with Rory Hirrell and Paddy Faulkner – both of whom would kick four points from play over the course of the contest – having already opened their accounts.
A minute later, a long ball into opposition territory found its way to Finn McLaughlin of Moville and after it broke his way off Coláiste Ailigh full-back Sean Ryan, McLaughlin shot low past Josh Pond for the opening goal.
Then, on 26 minutes, there was a second goal for Moville when the Coláiste Ailigh defence misjudged another raking ball and Josh Conlon buried the chance when it came his way.
Moville were 2-6 to 0-2 up at half-time.

Coláiste Ailigh did make something of a fight of it in the third quarter. Sean Breen scored the first point of the half for his team, then Ross Marley and Eoin McGeehin also scored.
It was those two players who combined for a goal for the Letterkenny side on 42 minutes when McGeehin’s pass was finished off by Marley for a fine goal. Moville lead 2-9 to 1-5.
However, Moville finished out the match strongly and 10 minutes from time fashioned a wonderful goal that saw Evan Craig finish off a move that involved Conlon and McLaughlin.
Then, in the last minute, McLaughlin scored Moville’s fourth when his effort sneaked in under the crossbar.
