ROMA MCLAUGHLIN from Greencastle rescued a last-gasp draw for Peamount United yesterday against Shelbourne Ladies LFC in the Continental Tyres Womens National League Cup.
Shelbourne were 2-1 in front at Greenogue when McLaughlin salvaged a point to preserve Peamount’s unbeaten sequence in the League Cup.
McLaughlin pounced after a shot from Milford native Amber Barrett crashed against the Shelbourne crossbar.
Barrett blasted an earlier shot off the bar, but Sarah McEvitt directed that rebound into the net.
That was Peamount’s first equalsier with Noelle Murray having opened the scoring for Shelbourne in the 32nd minute.
Sarah Rowe fired Shels in front again, but McLaughlin’s late leveller secured a share of the spoils.
