JASON QUIGLEY HAS been named as the ‘prospect of the year’ by top American boxing writer Jacob Rivera.
The Ballybofey man went 9-0 in his professional career this year with six wins, five of them inside the distance, in what was a polished year for the 24-year-old middleweight.
Quigley is at home for Christmas but jets back to Los Angeles on Monday ahead of a busy 2016, in which he hopes to make a real mark in his division.
Rivera, the co-founder of JabHookBoxing, has ear-makred the Golden Boy Promotions fighter for big things.
“Turning pro in 2014, he was picked up by Golden Boy & kept active very active & a lot of the time being the highlight of the card,” Rivera said of Quigley.
“I first heard about the young Donegal fighter on the OTG boxing podcast.
“They interviewed the young kid who was humble, personable, & thankful for the opportunities he had received.
“I was lucky enough to see him fight live twice & was really impressed with his skills as well as maturity for a young fighter.
‘If 2015 showed me anything its that I’ll continue to keep on the lookout of what I feel could be a future champion in the future.”
