CLOSE TO 100 plucky plungers to the icy seas at Rathmullan Beach on Saturday to get ‘Freezin’ for a Reason’ for Special Olympics Ireland.
The sport charity’s annual Polar Plunge event at the beach was a great success with a huge turnout at the scenic beach in spite of the wintry weather.
Plungers all raised funds for Special Olympics. The money will help continue the charity’s programme of sport and competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
The festive event was run in association with the Gardai’s Law Enforcement Torch Run, an organisation that has been in partnership with Special Olympics for many years.
