TÍR CHONAILL GAELS lost out in their AIB All-Ireland quarter-final against Clonmel Commercials this afternoon at Ruislip.
The Tipperary champions, who are managed by Derryconnor native and Cloughaneely clubman Charlie McGeever, were 2-11 to 0-9 winners at Irish TV Park in Ruislip.
Goals from Ian Fahey and Padraig Looram in either half saw the Tipperary side over the line, having led 1-5 to 0-6 at half-time only to concede the second goal 15 seconds into the second half.
Michael Quinlivan and Aldo Matassa were also black-carded for McGeever’s team.
Adrian Hanlon from Dungloe and Gaeil Fhánada’s Seami Nanny Friel were part of the team from the London champions, while Kicar’s Ashley Carr and Brian McBrearty – formerly of St Eunan’s – were substitutes.
Clonmel will take on Paul Durcan’s Ballyboden St Enda’s in the All-Ireland semi-final on February 13.
