SEAN DUNNION, the sitting Donegal County Board Chairman, has reaffirmed this afternoon that his name will go before the clubs of the county this weekend to seek another year in the position.
Sunday’s annual County Convention in the Mount Errigal Hotel sees the Donegal Town man complete his third year of a potential five-year term. Dunnion succeeded PJ McGowan in the Chair at the 2012 Convention.

The role of Chairman had previously been a three-year term but a change at the 2013 Convention extended that out to five years.
There have been murmurs that Dunnion was vacating the post this weekend, but when contacted by Donegal Sport Hub, the Four Masters clubman confirmed that he is running for election this Sunday.
“I am keen to continue on in the role of Donegal GAA County Chairman,” he said. “There is unfinished business as far as I am concerned,” referencing the Training Centre in Convoy and the Club Catchment Areas issue in the county when we spoke to him.
Dunnion faces a contest with Denis Ellis, the current Vice Chairman.
