Finesse Gymnastics Display Club came home from a Gymnastics Ireland event in Salthill, Galway, with medals in their pockets.
The GymStart Challenge is a new event run by Gymnastics Ireland and it gives gymnasts an opportunity to execute gymnastics floor skills appropriate to their ability levels.
The 19 participating gymnasts from the club’s senior display team and junior squad are bringing home 11 golds, one silver and GymStart Challenge level medals.
Each gymnast had to perform a routine encompassing seven out of ten perfect elements in order to be awarded a medal, and all 19 of Finesse’s participating gymnasts certainly did themselves, their parents and their club and county really proud this evening.
Over 150 gymnasts from all over the west of Ireland, including Renmore Gymnastics Club and Galway West Gymnastics Club participated today and Finesse were the only club to bring home as many gold medals, considering their small group. Several weeks of intensive training and hard work showed what the girls can achieve and it’s smiles all-round.
Finesse Gymnastics Display Club have once again lived up to their name and wowed the judges with finesse on the mat. The club now wish their Development Class every success in next weekend’s in-house competition where we hope to aim beyond the stars once again.
Congratulations and Well Done to those participating gymnasts today.
