DARRYL MORAN WAS tonight denied a place in the final of the Irish light-flyweight final.
The Illies Golden Gloves club member lost a split decision at the National Stadium in Dublin against Regan Buckley
from St Theresa’s in Bray, Co Wicklow.
Buncrana native Moran, a six-time Irish champion, won first round 29-28 but lost the second round 29-28 and went down in the third 30-27 in the National Elite Senior Championship semi-final.
Buckley will now take on Stephen McKenna, the European Under-18 silver medalist from Old School in Monaghan, in the final.
