WITH THE DEADLINE for the Donegal Sports Star awards about to pass, Donegal Sport Hub attended the recent launch of the event.
There, Charlie Collins spoke to a number of individuals who won awards down the years.
Dessie Kelly (pictured above by Geraldine Diver) knows the soccer circles inside out, while Paddy Delap was awarded for swimming and Paddy Gallagher in rugby. Nicola Harris won the second school award on behalf of St Columba’s in Stranorlar, while Máire McCole and Saoirse Bonner from Keadue National School were awarded winners last year. Billy McConnell also recalls his time with Raphoe Hockey Club.
Donegal County Council will once again be the exclusive sponsor of the awards function, which will take place in the Mount Errigal Hotel on Friday, January 29. It will be a very special night for the organization as it celebrates 40th anniversary. The deadline for nominations is today, Friday, November 27.
