DONEGAL ARE confident that Patrick McBrearty will be able to take his place in the team for Saturday’s Super 8 joust with Mayo.
At a press briefing earlier this week, Bonner acknowledged that McBrearty’s hamstring was ‘tight’ in the aftermath of the exciting draw with Kerry ten days ago.
While media reports last night suggested that the Kilcar man was a doubt for the weekend’s game in Castlebar, it is believed that management expect McBrearty to line out at MacHale Park.
McBrearty has just returned from a lengthy spell out due to a cruciate injury sustained in last year’s Ulster final.
Paddy McGrath and Neil McGee sat out the Kerry game, while Jason McGee and Hugh McFadden were withdrawn from that game with knocks.
Eoghan Ban Gallagher’s season has been ended by a broke ankle, but Bonner said on Monday: “Bar Eoghan Ban, I’d be very hopeful that we’ll have a full squad to play. They’re on the mend again and we’re hopeful on them.”
