DONEGAL MAN GARETH MCGLYNN has signed back with Derry City, just over four years after leaving the Brandywell.
The Inch native has returned from spells in Australia and America and agreed a one-year contract with the Candystripes.
The 33-year-old midfielder is back for his third spell at Derry.
McGlynn came through the Derry City youth system and played for the first team from 2001 to 2011, but spent 2010 at Bohemians.
After leaving Derry in December 2011, he played for Stirling Lions in Australia and more recently was with Lansdowne Soccer Club in New York, where he won two Cosmopolitan Soccer League titles.
“He’s a good signing for us,” said Derry City manager Kenny Shiels.
Kenny Shiels was delighted to confirm the news, stating: “He’s been there and done it. He’s been good for Derry so we just have to draw on that. We want everyone to be professional and we want a good, positive atmosphere around the place and this is part of it.”
